Rickie Lafon

Rickie received his Associates of Arts Degree along with a Directors Certification from Collin County Community College. He began his child care career in 1992 with the Boys and Girls Clubs as the director of the after school programs for five years. In May of 1997, he and Jan became the owners of Sunrise Learning Center. Rickie has been the President of the Texas Licensed Child Care Association, and various other position within the association. He has served on this board for several years. He also serves as a trustee on the Melissa ISD school board for 9 years during which he earned title of Master Trustee.

Jan Lafon

Jan received an Associate’s Degree of Liberal Arts from Grayson County Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementry Education with a Certification in Kindergarten, from the University of North Texas. She taught in MCKinney ISD for 14 years. Jan is a licensed Minister and has served as a Children’s Minister, Youth Minister, Worship Leader, and Pianist.
